 While it was debut album Hybrid Theory that first put Linkin Park on the map as one of nu-metal’s most melody-charged and chart-topping standouts, it’s sophomore LP Meteora that fully cemented the group’s legacy. The 2003 follow-up honed in on what Linkin did best, whether coagulating Mike Shinoda’s boisterous raps with the howled-out sensitivity of co-vocalist Chester Bennington, or by bristling distortion-blasted guitar hooks against sci-fi turntablism and wrecking ball beats.
